You Can Bring The Fire

Ezekiel 37:10-14
So I spoke the message
as God commanded me,
and breath came into their bodies.
They all came to life
and stood up on their feet —
a great army.
Then he said to me,
“Son of man,
these bones represent my people.
They are saying,
‘We’ve become old, dry bones —
all hope is gone.
Our nation is finished.’
Therefore,
prophesy to them and say,
‘This is what
the Sovereign Lord says:
My people,
I will cause you to rise again.
I will bring you back
to the Promised Land.
When this happens,
you will know
that I am the Lord.
I will put my Spirit in you.’”

EXCERPT FROM SERMON
Even on our best day,
without a miracle,
we’re dead in our sins.
We’re dead
because our selfishness is too great.
We’re dead
because our best efforts are too little.
We’re dead
because our thinking is broken.

We need a miracle.
We need the power of God.
And the Good News is…
we have it!

Acts 2:36-39 says,
“Let everyone know for certain
that God has made this Jesus,
whom you crucified,
to be both Lord and Savior!”
Peter’s words pierced their hearts,
and they said to him
and to the other apostles,
“Brothers, what should we do?”
Peter replied, “Each of you
must repent of your sins
and turn to God.
You must be baptized
in the name of Jesus Christ
for the forgiveness of your sins.
Then you will receive the gift
of the Holy Spirit.”

Each of us needs to repent.
Each of us needs to change
the way we think.

Satan has us convinced
that our fears, our past failures,
our perceived needs
all take precedence over God’s love
That thinking
is completely backwards.
Because there is NO fear
in God’s love.
There’s NO failure
in God’s love.
There are NO unmet needs
in God’s love.

We need
to change the way we think.
And God has given us
all the help we need.
All we have to do is ask for it.
