Every Gift

James 1:14-18
Temptation
comes from our own desires,
which entice us and drag us away.
These desires give birth
to sinful actions.
And when sin is allowed to grow,
it gives birth to death.
So don’t be misled,
my dear brothers and sisters.
Every good and perfect gift
comes out of heaven.
These gifts are rivers of light
cascading down
from the Father of Light.
There is nothing deceitful in God,
nothing two-faced, nothing fickle.
He brought us to life using the true Word,
showing us off
as the crown of all creation.
