Do What It Says
James 1:19-22
Understand this,
Understand this,
my dear brothers and sisters:
You must all
be quick to listen,
slow to speak,
and slow to get angry.
Human anger
does not produce the righteousness
God desires.
So get rid
of all the filth
and evil in your lives,
and humbly accept the word
God has planted in your hearts,
for it has the power
to save your souls.
But don’t just listen
to God’s word.
You must do what it says.
Otherwise,
you are only fooling yourselves.

God, we are back to where we started…we seek to produce good fruit….love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control…and today, especially self control…God help us be slow to anger…and when Anger does arise in us, help us understand when you would have us use this anger for Good vs. having us surrender this feeling to you. Amen.
